Wed June 16th: Greetings to browsers from the Getman anniversary fair. We’re currently transitioning our main website to this new design; so the offerings seen here (from the last Printed Matter Virtual Art Book Fair) are skewed towards avant-garde materials and artist ephemera. We also specialize in the human sciences and design history. You can subscribe to our email list to receive notice of future updates ...

Filliou, Robert / Pfeufer, Joachim
Out of the Poïpoïdrome. Prototype 00.
Circa 1975.

#17306. A group of three stamp-art specimens; stamped in black ink to rolodex cards (7.5 x 13 cm.). Fine.

A long-term collaboration between Robert Filliou and architect Joachim Pfeufer, the Poïpoïdrome was a spatial heuristic—as well as an “ambulant structure,” built from wood, string, bottles, and eggs—for understanding Art as an activity of permanent creation; taking its name from the poipoi greeting of the Dogon peoples.

Here: a business card for the duo’s Poipoi Foundation, which features a diagram of the concept; accompanied by two additional specimens of stamp-art from Filliou, reminiscent of his categorical Principe d’équivalence stamp (i.e. “bien fait, mal fait, pas fait”).
