Wed June 16th: Greetings to browsers from the Getman anniversary fair. We’re currently transitioning our main website to this new design; so the offerings seen here (from the last Printed Matter Virtual Art Book Fair) are skewed towards avant-garde materials and artist ephemera. We also specialize in the human sciences and design history. You can subscribe to our email list to receive notice of future updates ...

Saint-Phalle, Niki de / Tinguely, Jean
Paradiset.
Stockholm: Moderna Museet, [1972].

#17330. Extra-large poster (100 x 70 cm.); offset and litho combination. Modest bumping to left margin, otherwise bright and crisp. Overall: an impressive print.

One of a number of posters co-designed by the artist-couple Niki de Saint-Phalle and Jean Tinguely; this one composed to commemorate the acquisition of their Fantastic paradise sculpture garden by the Modern Art Museum in Stockholm. Their theme for that Expo 67 garden: Life confronted with the forces of destruction—with Saint-Phalle’s vibrant Nana here engaged with one of Tinguely’s sharp machines.
